Mr. Varela focuses his practice in the areas of residential and commercial real estate, business law, international and domestic taxation, and estate planning. Mr. Varela has experience representing both domestic and international clients ranging from high net worth individuals and small businesses to large multinational corporations.

Mr. Varela represents clients in connection with the acquisition, financing, development, construction, leasing and sale of residential and commercial real estate projects. Mr. Varela has experience advising his residential clients with a broad range of projects such as multi-family housing, condominiums, planned developments, and single family homes. He also represents his commercial clients with retail, industrial and office projects. Mr. Varela’s practice includes representing individuals, developers, property managers and real estate agents in the negotiation of various agreements. Mr. Varela has represented some of the nation’s largest developers and homebuilders with planned developments and condominium projects as well as institutional investors with their real estate portfolio acquisitions and dispositions.

In addition, Mr. Varela has experience with domestic and international taxation and transactional matters. Prior to founding Kellermann Varela, Mr. Varela worked at KPMG LLP and Ernst & Young LLP. While at these firms, Mr. Varela provided complex tax planning to clients in various industries in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, financing, intellectual property planning, supply chain management, joint ventures, and investments. Mr. Varela has experience in advising clients in a broad range of transactions involving U.S. investment overseas and foreign investment in the U.S. and dealing with a wide spectrum of international, federal, state and local taxation issues.

A significant portion of Mr. Varela’s practice involves representing and advising clients with respect to their United States real estate investments and assists non-residents and foreign corporations with their inbound planning needs. He specializes in business law, structuring of business ventures and entities in the U.S. and abroad, negotiating and documenting a wide spectrum of business arrangements, such as shareholder, partnership, operating, and joint venture agreements, letters of intent, stock purchase and merger agreements.

Mr. Varela is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Florida and has experience in various financial accounting and tax matters. Mr. Varela is proficient in Spanish.
